Yeah, unfortunate you weren't able to get a Greddy & Prospeed for the comparo, but I'm still looking forward to seeing the results.

Only major question mark for me is that Dinan "chipped" ECU or whatever . . . .

yeah i have no idea what that was.
the car used was a 93 VTEC
and all the headers were run open

we were trying hard to get a prospeed from another member but he wasn't available i guess

i was surprised at the HP diff between them all only being 6 or 8 HP
i wish i had brought my USDM header also, i dint realize the "stock" one they were talking about was JDM

it's alright, you guys did a good thing.

i think it's a pretty good spread of designs and price ranges, and very important research on this very hot topic.

kudos, kids.

Interesting. Those are H22 headers, correct? Look at the size difference in the collectors!

It also appears that the SMSP has the longest primaries. After looking at my SMS headers, I've become a big fan of slip joints, and I'd prefer those over flanges any day.

The sms def. has the longest primaries, but the prospeeds may be longer. I wish we had one available, but this was thrown together rather quickly. I was under the impression the only ones to be tested were the weapon r, SMS and stock. Jason talked to Scott a few days before the test and he came out with the DC and Mugen.

I also prefer the slip joints but installation is a pain.

Running open header I am going to guess that unless one is very restrictive (like 1.75" collector) that the longest pipe after the collector wins. Open header will also kill the low end.

Like Marcucci said, Running open header would probably why the results would show that many differences between headers. smaller collector won't show it's limitations as easily without a full exhuast system and cat.

I have a JDM Type S downpipe and there's no difference in collector diameter between that and an OEM SH collector. I doubt there would've been any power differences between the two.

Once we put my car back together, I made 3 more whp with the test pipe and exhaust, then the best open header run.
