H22 Pistons

Just bought some used H22A1 pistons and rods from a guy over on H-T, so hopefully at some point in the near (next 6 months) future I will drop these into my H23A. I'm not sure of anyone has ever done this, but I know that the pistons should work just fine. If they are in fact H22A1 pistons then I won't have to rebush my H23 rods to accept them, if they are A4's then I will have to rebush to accept the floating wrist pins.

Anyways, I am pretty excited. I hope these pistons are in usable condition. If not, then I got some cool paperweights. For the price I paid I dont really care. Just thought the NA forum would like to hear about this.

do you know what letters they are? A or B and what your bore sizes are? Some may not be usable

nah... for what I paid though I really don't care. If nothing else I will have cool paperweights, or maybe next years LFW trophies...

When I get them I will check them out to see if they are usable.

Sweet. What compression ratio do H22A1 pistons make in the H23A? Isn't it something in the high 10.x:1 (near 11:1)?

I don't think you can ID A or B size pistons w/o measuring them. Check the stampings on your block and then mic the pistons and see what the sizes are (make sure they are the same)- you can check the Helms to see if they are A or B size. You can hone a B block to accept A's but not the other way around.
