The camshafts that Gude makes for the H23 are regrinds... not sure about the rest of them. As for the rest of the head package... the parts list is kind of vague, and they don't post pictures of any examples, and also do not provide any dyno plots.

I dont think anyone here runs a full Gude head... try it out and let us know

A guy on H-P.com runs one. He dyno'd at 168 in an Si. That is freakin pathetic. Gude claims up to 195 on an Si with their package. If DPR and JG are chargin 3000+ for just a head, how could you be getting the same performance out of something that costs 1400?? You're simply not gonna. I guess it's ok for the money. But definately give the other 2 a look. They are a lot better quality. It's like comparing a stock Honda rod with a Crower. Mike

One thing that drives the price up on the JG head are the custom billet cams... only ones made for the H23.

That put aside, I think the JG head is an overall better product.

exactly what I was looking for, thank you gents for the reassurance. As for the JG head, and pretty much anything you put on your ride, you get what you pay for. It just takes us married guys longer to justify spending it. thanks again

i saw a dyno of a guide head job one time...
it was a bit fishy. they compared their GSR to a stock GSR, but for some reason it only put 120 hp to the wheels, and power dropped off like mad after 5000. their GSR made ~180 to the wheels. However, I doubt the only difference between the 2 cars was the guide headwork, and i think the 1st car had it's vtec disabled or something. i wouldn't trust a company that can't provide accurate baselines.

Part of the problem here might be that people are just buying parts or a "stage whatever" off of a website. You'll never make any power just putting together a mishmash of parts. Doing headwork on a motor based on someone's ad on a website won't get you anywhere.
