I don't know of anyone that is converting the USDM BB6 ECU to a programmable set up, or the Type S ECU to programmable. You'll have to convert to something like Hondata, Chrome, or Neptune. If you have ATTS, this will cause you to lose ATTS. I don't know of anyone that has made a programmable ECU (stand alone, not piggy back) that will work with ATTS.

Do you have ATTS? If so, you'll lose it.

I paid a few hundred for the Neptune, and $125 for a virgin P28 ECU. Tuning was $450.

Do you want a full tune, or just a half-ass WOT only tune?
He got tuned by Tony Paolo, one of the best tuners in the country.

If you want to keep the ATTS functional, go with Emanage ultimate.

If not, neptune is the best option.

Emanage Ulitmate looks pretty good for SH owners... you can control fuel, timing, revs, etc with data logging to... it's pretty sweet. And it's a piggy back which means you get to keep your stock ECU.

$450 for tuning a stand alone ECU is dirt cheap. Most quotes I saw for AEM tuning were around the $800 mark.

That's one session. Tuner + dyno time cost.

If you think $450 is a lot for tuning, I'd suggest you stay away from stand alone ECUs. Seriously.

That's actually not to bad for full standalone tuning. I think I paid $550 CDN for the first tuning session on my Greddy E-manage. Base map building and tuning for boost.

^you have to get a vafc tuned

but you can tune yourself although it might be a bit tricker since it doesn't seem like you are familiar, but i basically figured out how to tune a piggy back with a wideband from PO.com

I'm planning on gettting the Type S engine for my prelude, but how would I get around the ECU's speed limiter at 120 mph?

You could get a Apex'i RSM which has the ability to remove the speed limiter.

I have a RSM (not installed yet). I'm looking at the application chart in my manual and it definatly has both BB6 & BB8(type S i guess) codes.
