Try a search. There are tons of posts about ECU chips. If you have a 5Gen, you canNOT chip your ECU. Notice that even in this auction, it's only for the P13 ECU, which is the 4Gen VTEC ECU.
From what I have seen, the chips do produce some power, but not 10 or 20 WHP, like some expect. They are also not custom tailored to each engine. It's just a generic program that they install on each chip.
Be aware that going much above the stock fuel cutoff (7600 RPMs), like in the case of this chip (8500 RPMs) can seriously damage your valve train if it's not built to withstand the additional RPMs.
I personally wouldn't trust any ECU "chip" they sell on EBay... they love toslap the word 'Mugen' and 'Spoon' all over the place... you just never know what you are getting.
If you buy a Hondata setup, you will not need the VAFC. The Hondata is a stand alone ECU that will do everything the VAFC does and more. The model you want, depends on what you want out of the ECU.
Hondata. If you have a Hondata dealer near you, have them program a chip for you on the dyno. Keep in mind that when you change the modifications, you will need to have a new chip burned. Unless you have extensive modifications I think it's a waste of money (unless you want to raise the fuel cutoff, but then you need to spend money on valve train parts).
What about this company... Technosquare They claim to be able to chip some Honda OBDII ECUs buy adding a ROM chip... In fact they list applications for OBDII Integras and Civics. Would this work in ours or did Honda use a completely different ECU design on the Prelude

The thing with Hondata is unless you have a dealer near you, you'll need to pay over 1000$ to be able to tune it yourself. Is there something cheaper that would allow me to tune my fuel/ignition maps? I don't care about most other features like launch control, shift light and stuff like that I just want to tune the fuel/ignition maps but 1000$ for a Hondata that can do that? I'd rather spend a bit more and get an AEM EMS or something like that.
