Cam gears good or not worth it ?

Umm, i have a stock cam, i was thinking of upgrading to the modified level, but where do cam gears come in, how much HP does gears make ??

would Cam Gears make a difference on a stock cam ?

Do i even bother trying to adjust an overlap what does a smaller overlap change in comparrison to a big overlap

The only thing it will help is finely adjusting your timing. Adjustable cam gears are a pain for a stock engine due to the lack of benefits to having them.

You really need a dyno.

how do you build a good N/A motor without cam gears ?

Isnt the factory adjusting ( hydraulic adjusting ) just going to make up for the cam gear timing ??

you seriously need to read the n/a archives. There's a whole lot of very useful information there. Also, the prelude doesn't have hydraulic adjusting lifters. In fact, it doesn't even have lifters.

They can if they slip out of timing or someone just slaps them on with the idea it will create more power.

There is no such thing as hydraulic adjusting. The cam is rigidly attached to the timing belt gear.

Adjusting cam overlap can help in some cases. Experimentally, I have seen it actually work better on cam profiles closer to stock, rather than more aggressive profiles. Most users I have seen who dyno with hotter cams don't seem to get much out of cam gears (not sure why).

You can use them on stock cams. I don't think the gains will be all that much. They are useful in general for shifting around your powerband to the left or to the right. It all depends on where you want to make your torque.
