I just dont want one too large where performance or torque will suffer because of it. Give me some suggestions here please.
The Greddy Power Extreme for the 4th gen is 2.5" which I have...but I don't know of any 2.5" out of the box for the 5th gen...
Brullen exhaust can make you one though, factory fitment...

http://www.brullenexhaust.com they are out of toronto but they ship across NA. Talk to Richard, tell him you heard from a guy in the Toronto Prelude club you could do him a 2.5" ID 5th gen prelude exhaust.
I think if you do a search on Brullen on honda-tech you should be able to find some feedback. A lot of TPC members have them and like them.
Yes I agree that the Brullen system would be very nice. The GReddy Evolution and Power Extreme exhausts are listed as having piping that is "60-70 mm". 60mm = 2.36'' and 70mm = 2.75'' . I guess that would mean that the piping varies throughout the catback piping. I still don't think the A-pipe, which is the first piece after the cat has a 2.5'' opening. I think I remember hearing that the piping gets larger further downstream.

It states on the Brullen website that 3" is the smallest piping. Is this what I want?? Also whats the difference between "quiet and loud" setups. It seems they give you alot of options. I want it dual tipped to keep a factory look, but I want maximum hp potential. Maybe if I use a 3" model in the quite version the extra muffling will help the engines torque output? Whats the ID of the 3" units anyway?

Well if you're going with the JRSC and would like to keep one exhaust system (I would), then get the 3'' version. A 3'' exhaust shouldn't negatively impact your peak dyno numbers despite it being a little large for a less than all-out NA setup.
You might even want to get a 3'' high-flow cat for your JRSC setup, if that's the setup you plan on sticking with. I know you're testing three different setups on the dyno, but have you decided which one you'll leave on the car? I'm assuming the 3rd one, the JRSC setup?

Originally posted by Satan_SRV Basically the difference between quiet and loud is just that...it's the design of the can, Richard can explain the differences.
I suspect it would have something to do with the choice of resonator used as well . . . .

WHats Bruellen's direct number? I cant find it, and there isnt a good dealer nearby, or one that answers the phone even. A phone # would be great. As for doing a 3" exhuast, would that basically be like a 2.75" ID??
