Bought ECU with "Spoon" chip

So while looking for a p13 for my H22 Swap, I found an automatic that was going for pretty cheap since most people want the 5sp version.

Anyway, the description was for a "stock p13 ecu for automatic". I found on pgmfi that all you have to do is remove one resistor to disable the automatic control logic (therefore no CEL). So after I recieved the ecu, I open it up to find this:

I was already thinking of getting a chip programmer so that I could play around with uberdata or another free chip programing software, but now I think I will have to pretty soon! This looks like one of those cheap ebay chips that lowers vtec engagement and raises or eliminates the rev limiter. Hopefully the maps haven't been changed too much. I really don't want to have problems with a brand new (to me atleast) JDM engine.

any comments?

It's actually a very good program, just dont take it past 8000 revs or you might run in to certain internal 'issues' as I found out to my detriment

Yeah, that is one reason that I am weary about using it. If the rev-limiter was eliminated, that can be dangerous. Obviously if you are paying attention it shouldn't be a problem, but it is a nice safeguard to have.

I would think that the stock internals are not going to do well much above 7500 even. Isn't the normal redline for an H22 7200? where is the stock rev-limiter?

Very nice score! Do a search for my thread on some details on the Spoon program.

I'm pretty sure the original limiter on my JDM Prelude's H22a was about 7800, so a few more rpm shouldnt hurt it.

I've set my rev limiter to 8,000 via hondata. Only taken it there a few times, probably gonna keep it that way. ;-)
