Nice job, but one correction.

The H22A7 puts out 220ps, correct?

That equals 216hp, not 212.

it doesn't put out 220ps I guess...ask anyone in the UK and it's advertised as 212hp...I know it's weird but so is Europe

No the

Accord Sir F20B has an auto tranny
Accord Sir Wagon H23A has an auto tranny

Accord Sir-T F20B
5 speed T2T4 tranny w/ LSD
3.285
1.956
1.344
1.034
0.787
4.266

Accord Type-R H22A7
5-speed U2Q7 Tranny w/ LSD
3.285
2.090
1.481
1.071
0.870
4.266

Accord Euro-R H22A ( I have one of these)
5-speed T2W4 Tranny w/ LSD
3.285
2.090
1.481
1.071
0.812
4.266

The Type-S and Sir S-Spec have the same ratios as a fifth gen

Intersting comparison of the power curves of the Euro-R and ATR power bands, the ATR was 212hp for sure

For the accord type R vs accord Euro R

which 5th gear would yield a higher topspeed if there was no fuel cutoff.

What relationship does the final drive have?

If there was no fuel cutoff? Well then the trannies could keep spinning until the engines and trannies explode....

Assuming the same rev limit the lower the gear ratio assuming the same final drive will have a higher top speed.

Theorectical top speed for the Euro-R at 8000 is 164MPH (I have this one , while the ATR is 149mph same as a 4th gen VTEC...

It's the preude S model that has the longest ear...the 5th gear if on an H22a engine could hit 170mph

actually 176

btw I've finally figured out this whole wagon thing and why everyone is always so confused. All 6th gen wagons have h23 vtec engines. They only make like 156ish hp. those can be had in awd. The sir introduced in 99 has a different h23 vtec producing the 197 hp. and you're right, that model cant have awd.

Sorry but I'm going to have to disagree with you.

All the other engines were F23A VTEC motors, same as the 6th gen 4cyl accord, JDM one making 157ps or whatever. they were 86mm bore x97mm stroke. See honda Japan's website, it lists the engine and the AWD models.

http://www.honda.co.jp/factbook/auto...ac397-042.html

The H23A VTEC was introduced only for the SiR Wagon in 1999.

umm yea I think I was lying. lol. I got it from that honda world news site but I think i read there chart wrong. went back and looked and it doesnt actually say h23 vtec, just 2.3 vtec which would obviously make sense then that it would be the f23. I think... but I am going to keep searching cause I could have sworn I saw last night somewhere when I was searching that it was called the h23... which would be wierd if it was cause that would mean it would be an f23 with just a different name. then again they like to do that sometimes. maybe im just going crazy.
