Balance shaft eliminator kit

Had my eye on this for awhile, but can't really seem to find any real detailed instructions on how to do it. I read you can't completely take the balance shaft out without dropping the engine? Is there a write up somewhere with pics that anyone knows of?

You need to take the whole engine out, it just makes it easier. I don't think you can do it without anyways.

For now, just remove the belt itself.

its easier to do it while the engine is out, you need to access the girdle and plug some holes and you will also need to plug a hole on the block it self which requires the removal of a main cap and drill which will reward you with some metal flakes. at least thats with the kaizenspeed kit. its possible to do with the engine still inside the car, but a pain in the ass.

^not really, it does dampen the engine but isn't exactly needed.

You gain some consideriable amount of HP (over almost any bolt on) by removing it.

Throttle response will be better without it. It basically smooths out the engine.

inline 4 doesn't need a balance shaft, its a consumer quality engine part. gain a few hp/tq, add some noise. but its not required for durability.

With ESP mounts and no belt the car vibrates quite a bit, lots of rattling of various things but throttle response is like they say, trumping every bolt on you could buy. I'll totally remove mine once I find a good reason to remove the engine.

If you look on Honda-Tech there is a thread that has detailed pictures on the Kaizenspeed kit installation.

make sure you install this correctly or you WILL run the engine low on oil pressure which will blow it up.
