1. it's only a big help if you get it tuned correctly
2. you never need anything
3. if you already have a fuel management system, why buy a vafc? Me thinks you don't know what this does.

Do some more research, there are plenty of threads about this.

it would give some decent hp gains if it was tuned professionally. There is a shop in sf that does it for 150 flat and they are a reputable shop also.

DnR performance on
25710 industrial Blvd #2
Hayward, CA. 94545

heres their website, they only do appointments
www.DNR-Performance.com | M-F 10am-7pm Appointments/Service: 510 783-5200

it only takes an hour so its only 150 to tune a vafc

whats up julian hows the hood? thats why i was thinking of getting your cams. i wanna get a few more hp from my engine but i dint wanna over do it coz i still want it to pass smog. i heard that as long as its stage 1 cams or i go with a greddy turbo it will still pass smog but it might be too high maintenance to do that so im sticking with mostly bolt on. have you had experience with a vafc or hondata?

A hondata, without question, would be far superior to a piggyback like the VAFC. Reason is because the vafc can't tune partial throttle on an OBDII vehicle, and it can't tune the ignition timing. Hondata can do it all but costs much more. It comes down to how much you want to spend. I'd say the VAFC gives a decent bang for the buck, but if you want serious power you will have to invest in a real EMS.

^you sure it's a "spoon vtec controller" ?

Because IIRC, spoon only made ecu's for h22's, never a vtec controller.
