No, I decided not to spend that much. My current project is a 94-95 Miata, full track car, with a turbo. I am hoping for about 275 WHP or so, and about 2100 lbs. Bolt on turbos are getting about 250 WHP, and with headwork, internal mods, and an engine buildup, some are breaking 350, so 275 should be easy. A local guy ran 420 WHP on a dyno before he spun a bearing (oil issue, not related to boost).

My Prelude is still in pieces. Every time I work on it, I find more parts that I need to order to put everything back together.

I drive a 90 Integra as my daily driver. My wife has a '99 Miata that she drives everyday. Finally we have the Prelude, which is in pieces. Once the Prelude is back together, we aren't sure what we are going to do. I am trying to decide between driving the Prelude everyday or driving the Integra every day.

The 94-95 Miata that I am looking for will be a track only car. I wouldn't want to drive it everyday, as I plan on putting the MazdaComp body kit (not street legal) on it, a full roll cage, gutted interior, and race seats. No way would I be crazy enough to drive that everyday!!

Yeah, I like the Miata. Bone stock on street tires, and I was passing cars left and right at a DE event at Texas World Speedway a few weeks ago (and I am not even that good of a driver!). Slow on straights, but VERY fast in the curves. Doesn't feel like a toy at all. It's very precise, and very nimble. The Prelude is the same, but it just feels heavier (obviously).

I was doing a complete race only buildup on the Prelude. I had a lot of engine work planned, and most of it was done. I sold all the parts, though, and returned everything back (close) to stock.

I still have the weld in roll bar, though. I have to figure out a way to remove it.

With the help of LudeAutoXer (thanks, dude!), I got the AEM pullies installed tonight. I'm posting here because I did use some of jtown's suggestions.

Just to add, air tools are cool!

glad I could help.

After pulleys/header/exhaust, I feel a nice difference in performance. After I went to Sac Raceway, I was driving my car kinda "nicely", but over the past few days I've been unleashing her onto freeways and stuff....man, I cant' wait to drag again ... all I need is my cai and maybe VAFC/dyno.

I like it a lot. I've never really had too much riding experience in cars with exhausts. I wanted one that wasn't too loud, not buzzy and looks decent too. The Mugen is everything I wanted it to be. Performance-wise, it may just be my imagination, but it feels quicker up top right at vtec and beyond. The sound is nice and deep from the outside, but if you're inside with the windows closed and music on, you can barely tell it's there. Freeway cruising is highly bearable too. Totally worth the money ... if I hadn't gotten one used, I would have gotten the new one except they weren't in stock at King.

I thought it'd get worse, but it is way better than stock. I've tested it a few times starting at like 1.5k in 3rd gear and stuff. Surprisingly it climbs up much faster. Could be the pulleys though.

I get waaaay better gas mileage too now ... pulleys? haha.

Do anyone know the difference between 4th gen and 5th gen pulley for AEM? Unless they have different pulley for SI and base on the 4th gen.

When I ordered my pulleys, I thought the rep said that the pulleys are the same for 4th and 5th gens, but you may want to check AEM to make sure (www.aempower.com)

When you get that cold-air intake, you will REALLY notice the Mugen when you go WOT!

I'm bummed that T&T is over for the year out here...I wanted to run one more time with pulleys.

Too early to tell for me, since I haven't pushed it, or taken it to the track. But, as Mr. Ludecrs can tell ya (if he sees this thread), he beat me all 3 times (30-50mph roll) by a 1/2-to-full car length. His (or should I say, Becky's) car is similarly modded to mine, but he had pullies, and I didn't at the time.
