yeah i hope i feel a big difference too sice all the money i spent on those damn things . yeah i decided against installing them myself, just because i didnt feel like messing up and jacking my motor up. i asked around at the reputable shops. And i got a good price of $280 to install the cams, cam gears, and do a valve adjustment.
as for the cams having to break in, im not too sure.... Billy any thoughts?
thanks for the support, with my luck i'll need it.

i thought you were supposed to give new cams a break-in period. that's why they come with that break-in lube. i dunno, that might just befor initial start up though.
$280???? Is that a price for anyone or just you? Depending how far you are from me, it might be cheaper for me to drive down to MD for installtaion of parts. They charge like $100 for exhaust installations by where I am. You believe that SH**?

$100USD for exhaust???????
thats insane. i paid $40CAD for my exhaust install. and $30CAD for my CAI install.
Yup NJ sucks for performance shop prices. Route46 Motorsports was the name of the shop that wanted $100. The guys looked at me kind of funny when I chuckled and walked out. This was yesterday when I had my Tanabe DTM swapped out for the Thermal RD Stealth exhaust system. I had it intalled at Meineke for $65. What can you do, that was the cheapest price I could find on a short notice. Yeah I know, I should have just done it myself.

I would give them a couple hundred miles to break in some. The surfaces on the cams and the rockers have to wear together a bit. I think that's one reason why my rockers bit the dust with the Type S cams. I have them almost zero break in time.
Ideally, you should start the car (don't let it idle, I haven't figured out why, perhaps oil pressure), then drive it some, gently! Then come back, remove the valve cover and inspect everything to make sure all is good.

whats up guys the cams are pretty nice. I still havent gone into VTEC yet, i want to wait like 100 miles before i do it, just to be on the safe side. The lumpy idle that crower says the cams have is virtually non-existent. I dunno what there talking about. The car feels a lot torquier and wanting to go. it just feels stronger midrange. I so want to send the needle flying into VTEC range . Tommorrow i will try and put some milage on the cams, and see if i can hit 100 miles. Today i put about 16 miles on them. The car is also a lot louder too, sounds like the car resonataes a lot more inside the cabin with the with the windows up.

Damn that was a quick post.
Wow...and you actually stopped driving to tell the PO.com community!
I remember when the JRSC got installed, couldn't stop driving until the wee hours of the morning! heheh....good job though, DYI01, you've only got another 84 miles left to go!

The time is measured by the HKS turbo timer, which takes the readings from the ecu. It should be more accurate than GTECH.
I did a couple runs with my friend's GTECH last week and got the best time of:
0-60 6.9s
14.9 @ 98mph.
these times seem too good to be true for my setup.
Congradulations on your Crowers man! It's nice knowing that there is no lumpy idle, I was skeptical on that before.
Can't wait to hear more impressions from ya, are you going to have the cam gears and vtec controller dyno tune soon?

Just curious but what are you going to be doing with the RS*R exhaust when you get the EVO?
