I have never started a S2000 before, but I would think you have to press the button in order to turn on the car.
It gives the whole sport car feel to the car.

UPDATE!!!!

I made a quick connection so that you can use the KEY if you need to. (Made for emergency purpose)

I was thinking of a way to hook the S2K button, but still use the key and it would require some rewiring.
I decided not to waste my time thinking about because I LOVE the S2k button. Why would I want to use the key function?!?! It's so blah and boring.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anyways, I made a quick connection in case the relay breaks or the S2K malfunctions.

**STEP ONE**
Cut a short piece of 12 gauge wire. (about 2 inches)
And place two female connectors on either side of it.
Tape the new connection wire near the relay so it will be easy to reach when you need it.

**STEP TWO**
Located the cut start wire from the wiring harness. It is black with white stripe and will be hanging from the ignition connected to nothing (since it was cut due to the S2K installation.)

DONE!!!!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, when something goes wrong and you need to put it back to stock in order to drive home, all you need to do is some simple connections.

****step one****
Disconnect the two wires located at the 30 and 87a port on the relay.
(Those are the wires from your ignition that is reserve for your ON position...Yellow on the OEM harness)

****step two****
Now take the small wire connection that you just made and connect the two wires together by snapping the male to female connectors.

****step three****
Remove the wire on the 87 port on your relay and connect that to your female connector hanging from the starter wire on the OEM harness.

****DONE****
Now everything is back to stock and you can drive your car home.
It takes about 2 mintues to re-wire so you can start the engine with a turn of the key.
