As the S2K installation effected your stock immoblizer at all?
I doubt it does, but I though I asked anyways.
I think you meant to say SPDT? (there is no such thing as SDPT). The SPDT has less connectors. It has 5 to be exact. Two for the coil, and 3 for the switches.
If you're only gonna tap the BAT and ST wires you need a SPST relay. It has 4 prongs.
No the immobilizer hasn't been effected. The car works the same way in all ways.
If any so cal people need help, I could assist you, that is if I have time.
Great Job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can't wait to do it my self, I'm thinkin i'm going to find another place i'm in the process of fiberglassin over that.
Any Suggestions on a place to mount it would be Great.
And Again
Great Job!!!!!
I've been waitin for a while for that write-up
Yes, you need to put the key in and turn in to the ON position. Then you can push the button to start the car, or do it the traditional way and turn the key full to the Start position.
I tried taking night shots, but its too dark and my camera isnt picking it up. I'll try with my friends 4 megapixle camera over the weekend.
so can I just get a complete materials list with some links? i'm ordering a engine start button that supposedly comes with the proper relays, but I want to make sure I do it right and have the right wires.

you still have to put the key in the on position. the immobilizer will still function. you don't just hit the button. only thing it replaces if the circuit that completes when you turn it from on to start.

It doesn't make the car any easier to jack, because you still need the key, and the whole immobilizer thing still works.
ds2000: Yes, you may put this on the UK board, but please give credit to me, and PO.

10-Gauge wire

10A 12VDC 3PDT Relay, NTE #R10-14D10-12 (manufacturer is NTE)
30A 12VDC SPST Relay, Radio shack carries it, also equivalent part is NTE #R51-1D40-12 (which is a 40amp relay)
you can order this stuff from action-electronics.com
BTW, I added one image in my second post. It shows the connector you need to take out under the fusebox.
to all the ppl that keep asking stuff like "do you still need the key" and if it'll disable the immobilizer:
read through his posts.
the start button basically replaces the position where u "turn" the key. That's it. The purpose of this mod is just to be "cool". Does it save you any time in starting the car? No.
note on real s2000 starter:
When you turn the key to the "on" position, it will NOT turn any futher, so you HAVE to use the engine start to crank.
anyway, 99_sh I applaud your work again, and for taking the time to write this up

I tried to take a nightshot with my friend's Canon S400 digicam. And it didnt work. The button is too dim, and the camera cant pick up enough light to capture an image. So you guys who want a pic of the button at night, go install the button and you'll see it at night
I think the button does save time in starting the car. You dont have to push the clutch And plus if your two hands are busy doing other stuff, like putting down your wallet and cell phone when you just get in the car, its very convenient to just push the button. Plus chicks dig it...
