Great write up. Is there much play in the fender for alignment when you put it back on the car? A bodyshop that replaced my fender did a piss poor job of aligning it back onto the car, and I am wondering if I could do a better job re-installing it myself.

yes, you can adjust the alignment of the fender.
there isn't much room, but you can move it back and forth a little.
the holes on the fenders are much bigger than they need to be for fine adjustment.
