The "Read them and Weap" WriteUp

Read them and Weap, my friends.

This is actually a very simple write-up that I shouldn't be doing in the first place, but I thought I have fun and basically show off my silly floor mat anchor bolt.

After buying my Prelude, the floor mats were rather dead and I thought I spice up my interior with new floor mats.
My local dealership wanted $100 for them.
I found them for a lot cheaper buy ordering online.
http://www.handaaccessories.com/preint.html

To my surprise, an anchor bolt was given to me in the kit.
Strangely enough, it appears that many of my Prelude friends (you guys!!!) don't have this tiny little wonder.

It's funny how something so little can do so much!!!

Welcome to my.....drum roll please .....my silly Anchor Bolt Write Up!!!!!

Firstly, here is a picture of my old nasy dead floor mat. It's great for the winter season, so don't throw it away.

Find the precut hole that the factory made.

Cut it out with a sharp razor.

Look at that!!!...no drilling! There's a hole already made for us from Honda. I still don't know why we don't have this anchor bolt to begin with.

Place the plastic tab into the hole.

Next, screw in the anchor bolt with the supplied screw

Cover it back up with the carpet. Doesn't that look clean?

Put the mat back on and you're DONE!!!

Step back and enjoy your new floor mat and anchor bolt!!!

Wow, what a difference between the old mat and new one!!!
Plus, the mat will NEVER move.

I'm sorry, but looked at the package and I could not find a part number.
I'll check my service manual tonight and hopefully that might have it.

^me too, but mats had become standard at that point.

the dealer jacked you if you paid for floormats when you bought the car and he didn't put in the anchor.

I thought it came in every prelude,

now what would be a actual cool write up would be doing that on the passenger side and custom making the holes and such LOL jk

DAAAYYYYUUUUMMM!!

I gotta get some new f*cking floor mats. I love the look of the new ones. Mine look like your old ones, f*ck. Really sucks too because my damn mat slides over the place.

Its final that the 97 base model Ludes do not come with the anchor knob thing.

I guess it's a 2000 and up thing for Preludes to come standard with them.
It's quite strange because all preludes have that hole already cut into the frame.
I'm sure it cost Honda only pennies to install it.
I still would think it would be standard on all Preludes.

No matter...I have it now and I'm happy. HAHAHA

I don't think the site has to FAQ this.
I was just goofing off by actually making a Write-Up.
But if the admin wants to make it a FAQ for others to read in the future, I have no objections. Feel free to do so.

For whatever reason my floormats are always moving. I feel like no matter what I do I cannot stop them from sliding all over the place. This is just my driver side floormat too, not the passenger side.
