I think silicon sealant is needed cause wouldn't the old sealant all dry up.

i don't think other colors would look good, except for black...

i have taken apart about 3-4 headlamps and you dont need 400 degrees. I recommend 325. Also, make sure you get no fingerprints or anything on the inside of the glass or the metal reflector.

one suggestion....make sure that when you guys end up doing this that when you paint the peices that you use a well ventillated area and also make sure the weather is higher than 80 degrees. well thats for better results.

I would be more worried about properly sealing it and keeping out moisture,along with the fitment going back on the car
