My current project: JDM Climate Control

Well guys this is my current project

I just started installing it in the car this evening (for about 30 minutes) but I ran out of connectors (I'm planning on soldering the wires when everything will be done)

So far I wired the power, ground, recirculation motor and mode control motor (partially, that where I ran out of connectors)

Also I didn't hook the memory yet so is that why I have to press a button so I can see the stuff on the display?

It's gonna be fully functionnal soon, not in the next few days cause I still need a few parts but trust me on this it'll be fully functionnal

Well I bought the unit for 75$US shipped, it came with only one sensor, the interior temperature sensor but I'm not worried about that

I'm gonna continue working on it tomorrow after work at least finish the easy stuff and friday/this weekend I'm gonna do a little searching for the parts I need, I could get them all but I still need about 250$US in parts so I'm looking for better price and stuff

H22aPoweredBatMobile: I got your PM but I'm going to bed right now so I'll get back to you tomorrow, if I forget send me another one

Nice job! Looks so much better than the standard heating controlls. Where did you find the wireing schematic? I know it's allready been said, but a write up would be so nice. It looks really good. Big up's!

I had a JDM cc in my car for over a year and a half, looks sweet but a total waste of money. I fooled with it once or twice... soder all the blk wires from them jdm & usdm harnesses, these are your ground wires, next soder the blk/yel wires from both harnesses together ... this is your power. The wht/yel wires will be memory. As for the rest? Donno. If someone could get their hands on a Japanese Prelude manual, that would help. It would have wiring diagrams in it. Would just need it translated ... no big deal. But good luck!

Yes guys I'll do a write up I'll even make you guys a nice wiring diagram with the USDM/JDM differences on it (like where to cut/splice/add wires)

yellowh23a: I already got more than the power and ground done, I haven't connected the memory yet cause there are no wires for that in the USDM connector and I'm doing those first since they are the easiest, just cut from old connector and crimp with the new one

as for the dust on the dash it's cause I was waiting for spring to clean the interior of the car but since I was supposed to get my car painted I haven't done it yet it's getting painted in a week and a half

brendon2k: well there's the air mix control motor, a transistor, water valve with the solenoid and stuff and the sensors. I think that's about it

U.K VTEC: Thanks man You've been a great help

Well I continued connecting some other stuff, I finished the mode control motor and hooked up the rear window defogger and A/C, I can't tell you if they work though since my A/C was empty, and there's no fog in my rear window

I also removed my A/C condensor and heater blower, I think this is one step that'll make a line between the boys and the men

Right now I'm kinda stuck since I need a few parts to continue, I should get them this weekend or in the middle of next week

I took a few pics I'll try to put them online sometime this week

Yeah, I was wondering how good a climate control system would be without A/C.

you don't need a specific engine to install the Climate Control, I also have a 92Si though I have an engine swap but it doesn't matter
