you do have some adjustability with the reflectors, but how did you intially mount it so that its within the adjustment boundrys. i guess you just used common sense and tried to mount it the best you can, then just adjusted it to what you want?

i tried getting it as level as possible. I actually used a level and measured the dimensions of the projectors and exactly how far apart the holes were from each other.

I just took all of these measurements and tried to center as best I could. The level was so I wouldn't have a cockeyed beam pattern. I wish I could better explain it. In the third pic the black surrounding the projector is the reflector after being painted.

I made this steel plate instead of reusing the reflector because i was worried about its durability. It wasn't very difficult to make and worked pretty. It was about .15 cm thick and easy enough to cut out. Here's what it ended up looking like. You can see the brackets that when on the reflector originally.

....yes that is my juice pouch

heres a pic of the reflector itself ready to attach the projector on it. as
for leveling what i did was make the projector parallel to the reflector itself.
once this is done then your cutoff should be a straight horizontal line.

Thanks I opted not to make a shroud because i got lazy and my creativity was absent, So the finished product looks not so impressive....

I still haven't taken any pictures of the beam pattern or of them on my car, i'll do that pretty soon i hope.

im trying to figure out a way to allow for rotational adjustment (as in turning the projector clockwise). i guess the stock up/down left/right levelers will suffice for directional stuff.

yeah that was a big concern of mine as well. If the projector isn't parallel to the ground, small errors are magnified. One of my projectors is off by a degree or so and it is noticeable but there's nothing i can really do now.

^^nice work. one of my projector is off a degree or so too. i tried fixing yesterday and added dot shield n d2s bowl but still the same. im guessing the reflector itself is not parallel with the headlight, i dunno.... i gave up lol

i know that on hidplanet, theres a guy who does retrofits and he devised a way to be able to adjust rotation with a screw somehow. its just a screw on top of the headlight, and when you turn it, it adjusts the rotation. i wonder how he did it. there must be a way to allow rotational adjustment, we just gotta figure it out.

I would also like to know more about the adjustment motors? I ended up getting some BMW 3 series projectors, ballast, bulb, and ignitor. I dont know what these adjustment motors are though? Do they just automatically adjust the level of the projector or what?

Also can somone explain where I put the shroud? I thought it went around the projector inbetween the end of the projector and the reflector or plate?

wow, lots of questions. lets see.... ill try to answer even though i havent done a retrofit before.

yohan420, im not really sure what your asking. what do you mean beam pattern adjustment with level? theres stock knobs on our headlights that allows for adjustment but what it doesnt allow is rotation like clockwise turning of the projector to get the line parralel to the groud for a optimum lighting and glareless operation.

still not sure what you mean by adjustment motors unless your talking about bixenon that has a solenoid that allows for high and low beam operation. it wont automatically level itself, thats your job. unless you happen to implement a auto-level system which no one has done (or maybe one or two). you have to mount the projector and make sure it projects the light parrelel to the ground. it wont level itself.

the shroud should attach to the outer rim of the projector lense and your halogen reflector or however else you want to attach it. you can attach it however you like. it goes over the projector lenses kinda like a hat. and depending on your shroud (self made or oem), it may need some thinking on how to attach it.

That's not too bad! That's more of a bezel than it is a shroud. But it will work.....depends on how you install the projectors though.

What are the dimensions on them? They may or may not be too big. The valeos fit just fine with barely any extra room left.

o ok, i see. its bixenon projectors and he included the leveling motors aswell. i dont know too much about bixenons. you can get a wiring harness made for those bixenons. but when you do that, you will lose the functionality of your h1's so you will probably have to run those on a fog light switch since the bixenon will handle your high and low beams. as for the leveling motors, i have no idea on how to install or use them. maybe they are easy, maybe its really hard but i very rarely saw someone using them. youde have to ask people on hidplanet.com for that one. i would guess its pretty damn hard and not worth the trouble in my opinion.

and the shrouds, telling from the pic, it looks as though they go onto the lenses part like a hat, then attach to the middle of the projector with some sort of screw. you can just leave it mounted on the projector and just attach the projector to the reflector and while making the shroud meet the reflector. hopefully, you understood what i meant.
