Yokohoma Parada Spec-2.. good tire?

Does anyone have this? I want a high performance tire to use for racing/autox with a good treadwear.. I dont want to spend t1-s kind of money either. All reviews I've read point to this tire.. any insight?

By the way I'm looking at a 215/40/17.

I have the Parada 2's on my car. I can't really compare them to any other performance tire since my previous wheels were the stockers. But I'm pretty happy with their performance - in addition to daily driving, i used them for a day of road racing and the grip was nice. They are not loud at all and I was confident driving in the rain. Also, the lip protector is kind of nice.

I like them a lot.
Although I think the road noise is REALLY REALLY loud.
Really grippy compared to other tires I've tried.

i want to ge the spec-2's for my lude as summer tires but was concerned about the performance of this tire in the rain

anyone care to give more feedback on how it really does in the rain
granted youre not supposed to push your car super hard around corners in the wet i do take them a lil faster than what the speed limit states

I had Federal (some brand wheelmax sent me) before 215/35/18 before. I've had my yokohamas 215/40/18 for a month now, so much better.

Here I go again on one of my GS-D3 crusades. Are you willing to spend a little more money on a tire? For $17 more per tire, you could get GS-D3s which will put ANY Yokohama to shame. Yokohamas = LOUD and DEPLORABLE wet weather traction.

S-03's are atleast $80 more than the parada everywhere I look.. thats an extra $320 for the set. I dont doubt theyre good.. but I dont want to spend that much on tires.

If you can get SO-3s for that then definitely do it. I have never seen them that cheap, however. The SO-3 is usually $50 more than the GS-D3 and thus $70 more than the Yokos, per tire.

You can definitely do better than the Yoko and for not that much more money. Just remember that the Yokos also wear very quickly. You could almost go through two sets of Yokos in the same time that you go through one set of GS-D3s or SO-3s. Which is the better bargain then?

i allways had the pirellis p7000 supersports. but i hate when the tread ware downs the split like a muder.

i just got a set of the spec 2. love the tread on it and grips really good. i drive a GRIP so i'll let you know how they handle wear and tear.

what does good treadwear matter?

if you want an auto-x tire there are only 3 options, really.

Azenis
Kumho MX

looking at the results at nationals those were practically the only 2 street tires used. a few oddballs were running T1-S. a few people were running S03's or BFG's.

roadracing is the same story, though i hear the MX holds up better under intense lapping, as the azenis get really greasy.

yeah you could auto-x a GY F1, but my question is, why would u want to?
