Whenever you look for a plus size tire, use this:
http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html
In fact, bookmark it NOW. Type in the stock size 205/50/16 and then the aftermarket size you want. It will give you difference in sidewall, overall diameter, and % speedometer error @ a typical highway speed.
225/35/18 is nearly identical to stock wheel/tire overall diameter so it is the ideal size for the Prelude (type it in and try it out yourself). It is pretty thin, so some guys squeeze in a 225/40/18 (sidewall is 40% of 225mm instead of 35% so its a little taller). You'll also see 215/35/18 which should only be run if your wheel offset is too low and you have no other choice.
235/35/18 is barely taller than a 225/35/18 which is why I mentioned it. It would look good on an 8" rim and should require only minor fender modification.
With 17's, we're looking at very different sizes to maintain something close to stock diameter. 215/40/17 is slightly smaller and is generally the prefered size. 205/45/17 doesn't add any width so must guys don't run it. 225/45/17 is a very popular size but its NOT good for Preludes (too tall). 235/40/17 needs an 8" rim but depending on the wheel, will fit the Prelude with minimal or no modification.
that's it in a nutshell for tires. For wide wheels (7.5 - 8.0") you need about a +45 to +48 offset respectively. Damn I'm feeling nice today

I should have told you to search and learn it on your own like I did
