Wheel durabilty

Hey,

I'm looking for a new set of wheels for my '96 Prelude and I have a question about durability of lighweight wheels with respect to daily driving. For example one of the wheels I'm looking at is the Mugen MF8 in the 16x7 @ 12 lbs. The offset is a little lower than stock at 43 but I figure that's it is probably close enough. Or would a set of 16x7 SSR GT1's be better at @ 15lbs. FYI the offset of this wheel is 42. Or am I still a too light.

Also does anyone have any idea how much change I should expect in handling.

Thanks

My 17x7 OZ Superleggera's weigh 15lbs a piece. I have had them on for about a year now with no problems as far as denting or wheel damage due to lightness is concerned. If you can, go with the Mugen MF8's... those wheels are so damn cool. You will notice a bit more acceleration due to the rotational weight reduction. Handling will mostly be affected by the tire's you choose.

Hmm, I was also lookin at the Oz's but I didn't think it fit 4th gen preludes. Does the 92si have a 4x114.3 bolt pattern? What's the offset of your wheel? I couldn't find anything useful at Oz's www site. Heck they don't even list the 4th gen in their fitment guide and tirerack isn't showing it as an option.

I definitely like the Mugen but they're so damn pricey . I'd probably use 5 different set of wheel locks on them just so someone doesn't jack them.

TireRack doesnt list them as an option for 4th gens on there website, but if you call they will say they fit. I love mine. Your correct, all 4th gens are 4x114.3... Im not sure on the offset of mine, I just told the people at TireRack what car I had, and they sent me the rims, and they fit fine.
