Whats the widest tire i can put on

I have a 94 prelude. Some one wants to sell me tires that are 255/45/R17. Will they fit with no rubbing or anything?

that's a hell NO! if you're going with 17" rims 215/40 is the closest to stock circumeference. 225/40 is the next closer. I'm running 225/45/16 and really like the way that fits.

Also when going for really wide tires make sure the rims you pick are appropriate for that tire

why would you want a 255 tire size anyway? 225 is the widest I would ever go

Thanks guys. I was going to buy some rims and the guy was going throw in those tires. I do not want to go and buy new tires.
