tires for 17x7.5 wheels?

i know this has been asked before but when i searched i was getting mixed answers from the previous threads

ive found a set of rota p45s on cl they are 17x7.5 +45offset without tires these will be going on a 5th gen prelude this is currently lowered on koni yellows and Eibach Pro-Kit springs they are " 1in-1.5in drop" and i was wondering if i should go with a 215/40/17 or a 215/45/17 tire

thank u in advance

You don't need a pole. I have +40 17x7.5 also and I'm lowered. I put on 205/40's for clearance.

Of course he doesn't need a pole. Unless he's a dancer or something.

40= smaller overall then stock and less sidewall
45=more side wall and more protection but a lil bigger overall

i use nearly same setup like you i use 215/40/17 now my winter tires are 215/45/17 have no problems with 215/40/17 but every even small bump feels very big so if i have to buy again i will buy 45.
I have this same question before buy but i was scare for clearance issue.

Best Regards
D.D
