Tire Suggestion for 17x7.5 wheels

I am looking to get the 17" x 7.5" Rota Battles with a 45mm offset. What tires would you recommend getting? I want something that is durable for daily driving with performance for the occasional auto-x or drag race I do. I want something for $400 or less....what do you all reccomend?

At that price, i think your only viable choice are the Kuhmos.

you cant get a decent set of tires (besides kumho) for $400??? Damn, cause I have kumho 712's now and they are good for awhile but they wear out so damn fast...less than 20k for me

Well, if you go down toa lesser tire, but really for less than 100 a tire plus shipping and mounting...you are going to hard pressed for a 17" size.

if you want longer tread wear, consider the Dunlop SP9000...they seem to last much longer than any other performance tire that i have owned. They will be over your budget though.

Well I am gonna spend about $950 on the wheels and tires (which includes balancing, mounting, lugs, etc....) from a shop that I have a semi hook up with and I figured the tires would be about $400 of that $950....so what are good options right around that area?

If you have a hookup, try to get the tires wholesale then. The sp9000 can probably be had for $100 a piece at wholesale cost, they are $129 at TireRack.

you might be able to get nitto 450's for that price. i believe they are around 105 each for that size but thats without any haggling (yep u can haggle down prices on tires).
my nitto's are way above 20k, i launch about once a week, sometimes more, treadwear is above 1/2 way mark. they have amazing traction in the rain as well as dry. they tend to blister in very hot weather but its prolly because i drive hard. nothing bad, but looks a little crappy (most tires will blister at some point though, and this is in 100+ degree oklahoma summer).

I would take the Kuhmos over the Nittos.
