So I totally F-up my new rim...

I just installed a set of o.z. superleggeras on my '99 nhb lude and I end up slamming into a curb. A good quater sized chunk got ripped off and I was wondering if it'd be possible to repair it. I don't feel like shelling out ~$400 for a new rim, so does anyone know of a rim repair shop in southern cali?

Thanks for responding...

Check in the magazines. There is a shop in greater LA that does this. Here in the East we have several as well. Look in Grassroots Motorsports, SCCA's Sports Car, etc.
I'll warn you that the repair you will need will probably cost something over $100 plus shipping-been there and assure you this is not something to be done without using a real pro.

Yeah...you're right jc836, I checked up on it and it'll cost over $100 + shipping to repair it. I can get a new rim for $225 so I'm not sure if it's worth it to repair...geez why couldn't it be $50 to repair...would make my decision a lot easier.

Generally, they should be fine to fix. Depending if you rims is a 1 piece, 2 piece or 3 piece rim. Anything more that 1 piece could be very complicated. A good shop will heat the rim, bend it back, weld back any missing pieces and repaint the rim.

Actually, if done properly, a refinished rim is practically new. 3/4 of my rims have been refinished.
