rolling fenders

hey, i posted this in the general forum, and didnt get a response. then i saw the wheel and tire forum, and thought that may be why... (i never noticed this section before ) i dont have much experience with aftermarket rims at all, so what exactly does it mean when everyone is talking about rolling the fender? i understand that it is to make clearance for the the rim so it doesnt rub, but what part exactly are you "rolling"? thanks in advance for the help

You would be rolling the little piece of fender that sticks into the fender well on the rear of the car, the piece that has the little black platic cover on it. You really can't roll the front fenders. if you get this done, go to a shop that has the proper tool. There is actually a tool that bolts to the hub and rolls back and forth over the piece that is bent out of the way. It heats the paint with friction, and prevents the paint from cracking. I would check with shops that specialize in BMW's, Supras, ETC. As they tend to have the proper tool and the most experience with this. When I had my Supras I had the rear fenders rolled to help make room for the 12" wide wheels. I also have the rear fenders on my Porsche rolled as well. If done improperly, you will crack the Sh!t out of the paint, and introduce rust and corrosion to the exposed metal. Do, not use a basball bat, or other means to do this.

60bucks or around there.

or just get like a bat or some pc of wood that is perfect. then put it in your wheel well and SLOWLY move your car foward to get a perfect roll. done it twice on 2 civics. very easy takes like 15 minutes.
