Rim Question

I currently have 17" Sportmax rims on my 5th Gen Prelude w/ Function & Form Coilovers.

I'm running Cooper Zeon 205/45ZR/17 Tires

Someone is selling 17" Rims off a 1999 Honda Accord. 5 lug pattern, w/ 225-45RZ-17 tires on them (I think he means 45ZR)

I want to know if my coopers are going to fit on those rims and are the rims gonna fit on my prelude...

Maybe an easy question..but I'm clueless when it comes to rims and tires.

Pic is of the rims I'm looking to purchase

ok..think I might have figured it out.

99 Accord V6 has

5 lug 4.5 inch or 114.3mm High Positive Offset

97 Prelude has

5 lug 4.5 inch or 114.3mm High Positive Offset

So as long as they are off a V6 Accord...should be fine.

You need to know the wheel width and offset to be able to tell if they will fit. Both should be stamped on the wheel or on a sticker on it somewhere. 225 tires are borderline too wide to fit on lowered Preludes.

You still need to know the offset and wheel width to be sure, but odds are if they fit an Accord they will fit a Prelude. However before buying them, you should be absolutely sure they'll fit. Once money has changed hands you're most likely stuck with them whether they fit or not.

Correct. Offset is everything. The wheels should fit depending on offset. A 225/45R17 tire is like 205/55R16 tire, it will rub. 205/45R17 will be just right and it's staying within the recommended tire size when up sizing to 17" wheels.
