I'm looking to buy some new wheels (first wheel purchase for me) for my white 2000 honda prelude SH. Since it's my first purchase I don't really know much on the subject, and with all the choices out there I don't want to end up stuck with something I'm not happy with. I've been doing some research and have a few ideas. I'm thinking gunmetal, matte black, or black, which in my opinion look best with the white, but bronze is also a potential, as well as some silver rims. I'm also thinking something along the lines of 5 spoke or 6 spoke, although I like several different styles (I know...I have pretty vague guidelines). As for price, I'm looking for a quality rim, but not too expensive. As for size I'd prefer 18", but if I were to lower my car in the future, would those be too big or no?
Just a few examples of some rims I've been looking at are the Enkei RS7s and Evo 5s, Motegi Racing SX5, Tenzo-R DC-6 and DC-5, and a few others.
I know this is a pretty vague post, but if anyone is willing to lend a helping hand and give me a couple suggestions that would be awesome. Also feel free to ask any questions that might help and I'll try to answer them.
Hmm, those both look very nice, but I'm not sure how I feel about the red strip with the white. Since I made my post yesterday I think i've limited my choices down to just 5 or 6 spoke, with a dark tint (either gun metal, hyper black, black, matte black, something like that) but preferably with a silver/chrome lip....
I just came across the Rota P-45F and I really like it....It's got nice gunmetal, 5 spoke, and chrome lip...basically everything I want. I don't really know anything about rims though, so I guess my question is would these be a good purchase?
Alright, I went to Town Fair Tire today and took a look at they're wheels, and I found some that I really like... the Maxxim Guilt: GUILT
What do you guys think? I had them put up a couple different rims infront of my car to see how they looked and those were by far my faveorite.
They offered a package deal 4 rims, 4 barely used tires (color marks are still on them), all for $900...does that sound about right?
if youre going to lower your car in the future id go with a 17. thats what i have.

Hmm, alright thanks. I might just end up going with the 18s for now, and then if I have to, sell them when I want to lower it...which may not be for several years.
Yikes...I just got home after putting down money on 18" Maxxim Guilts, along with Nexen N5000 tires (i think the size was 215/35/18), only to find a post on another forum warning me that 18" is too big for my car, and that it will hinder performance. Is this true??? I was under the impression it would only be in issue if I were to lower my car in the future.... I need answers fast though cause I'm getting them put on tomorrow.
Thanks,
EB

i have the maxxim guilt in 17" and i love them. i have a white base and they look good with the black trim on the car. pretty classy. i gotta get my windows tinted though.
What do you guys think about the seibon lip kit replacing the stock black trim?...kinda of an idea i have for the future
Hey guy actually car wheels and rims play a vital role in the safety and style of the car. Wheels and rims give cars the personalized look that the owners want. However, buying wheels and rims at an affordable rate is not easy is very difficult to find cheap wheels for sale especially those with chrome rims
Which is the current trend? Chrome rims are the most popular choice of car owners in recent times.
