Question about installing metal valve stems

Has anyone even installed metal valve stems in a wheel before? I just got a set of Kosei K1's, and since I bought the wheels without tires, the valve stems arent on the wheels. The valve stems have two nuts on the end (no jokes, please ), but there arent any instructions with them that says how much torque should be used. Id rather do it myself, so I can just take my Hoosiers and the rims to a shop and have them mounted. The last few times ive had competition tires mounted or dismounted the people in the shop have been a bit timid about even doing the work, so I just want there to be one less thing for them to deal with. Thanks!

If you install metal valve stems I highly recommend that you get valve stem retainers. You see, in this universe there is something called centrifugal force. When your wheels spin the valve stems get bent outward just the slightest bit, and this is no problem with plastic valve stems because they flex and have no adverse affects from the centrifugal forces. Metal valve stems on the other hand will bend over time, requiring you to buy new valve stems, or if you dont replace them, one could break resulting in loss of tire pressure. I have seen it happen to some guys in my Dad's Porsche club, and its not fun. Valve stem retainers are cheap... just giving you the heads up on this...

metal valve stems

I was wondering if you ever figured out how much to tighten the metal valve stems for your rims? I just got a new set of rims and need to install them

here's what to do, take them and throw them in the nearest garbage, all the ones that i seen put on at our shop came back in a couple weeks because of leaking, just get the shop to put the rubber ones on while you are getting them mounted, if you really want the metal look, just put chrome caps with the chrome sleeve over the stem.
