Prelude ball bearings

I was told that the ball bearings on preludes are bad; must be replaced every couple months... True or false? I heard this at an auto shop when i was looking into buying a prelude.

HUH?

never heard that. My rear left wheel bearing went bad at like 96k or so. But Im one of the few Ive known to need it replaced.

The lower ball joints on 97-98s had recalls, but they are covered by Honda.

i drove off the highway one time because i hydroplane off the highway and hit the curb then landed on the grass, since then my car has been driving crookit, i thought I just need an alignment but he told me he is going to need to order a new ball bearing for the front passenger side which cost around 250, is that true guys? just want to hear if anybody been through it, i dont want this guy to rip me off 250 for a new ball bearing, so with labor around 300, fact?

I still don't understand what you guys are calling ball bearings. There's either wheel bearings or ball joints.

+1

if the guy called it a ball bearing then he's on crack.

Im guessing that you might have ripped the boot on a ball bearing joint when you went off if that is what he's talking about. And that could cost anywhere from 150 to 200 plus labor.

I think when I looked into getting all my lower ball joints replaced, the parts were the most expensive aspect.
