Need tires for summer and 1 track event

I have PIRELLI Supersport P7000 All season on my stock wheels right now but I am going to a track event in July.I think they will be really bad on the track. So I am think about getting some tires that are decent for summer, cheap and ok on the track.I have no track experience.Any ideas?
Thinking of getting 2 yokohama es100 (used) and 2 goodyear eagle GS D3 on stock size.

Thanks

i would recomend against mixing tires. Go with a set of Hankook ventus rs-2's. They are cheaper than the falkens but still give good performance. I used them for 2 track events and several auto-x events.

The treadwear is kind of low...so will they last?
How about goodyear eagle gs d3?

What he said, don't mix tires, and do go for the Hankook R-S2s. I did one track event on them so far and they were great, and after that I drove them on the street for months. I'm VERY happy with the treadwear (aside from the corner abrasion that accumulated on the track), and I'm also VERY happy with their rain performance.

I don't know if they come in the stock size for the 5th gen, but if so, this could be your only set of tires and you should have no complaints.

I know the Hankook R-S2s have 205/50/16 and shipped to my door for $360.
The Falken Azenis RT-615 don't have 205/50/16 but they have 205/40/16 and shipped to my door for $376.
Does 205/50/16 and 205/40/16 really matter?
I wouldn't mind to pay a little more ($16) to get the falkens if they are better.
But what should I do?

The 205/40/16 is too small for the stock wheel there's a dramatic difference in diameter from a 205/50/16. I'm also running the hankooks on a 16" wheel but the 215/45. They're a great tire and not too pricy. Have you thought about running the 215/45/16 the hankooks are offered in?
These are the over all diameters of the tires.
205/40/16 - 22.5
205/50/16 - 24.1
215/45/16 - 23.6
As you can see the 205/40 iis more then 2 inches shorter then the stock tire size.
The 215/45 is only about a half and inch shorter but since it's a wider tire you get a larger contact patch.

Two inches is too drastic. That would be okay for a dedicated autocross wheelset, not for daily driving.

The Hankooks will last longer than the Falkens. They're both rated UTQG 200, but this is an example of where two companies' treadwear ratings do not compare the same. The Falkens will handle like crazy, and wear down faster. But the Hankooks will handle damn nicely too. And as far as I can tell, they don't wear much faster than a normal summer tire.

It would be the right diameter, but going that wide probably won't help much. According to tirerack.com, tires that size shouldn't even be mounted on rims less than 7" wide.

I ran the 225/45-16 kook on stock wheels and it fit fine. It did not rub and i am dropped on koni/gc. About 1 or 1.5 finger gap up front.

You'll still have fun, but they won't be the most competitive out there. I ended up going with Dunlop SP Sport Maxx. Not too far behind the GS-D3's, but much better price. Actually beat the even pricier S-03's in a tirerack.com comparison.
