So, I am looking into a 5 lug conversion, and I see many people swapping out the wkole knuckle, but why not just get a machine shop to fabricate or convert the existing hub to 5 lug?
What would the issues be with that?
And I'm not asking for purists, I want actual technical backup if any.
Thanks guys!
Anyone?
Also, I am going to be getting a new set of rims to replace my stockies this summer, and I am considering 2 choices, both Rota's which accomodates my wallet.
I like the GT3s and the JMAGs, and most rims that i'd be willing to bolt on only have a 40mm offset, what would my outcome be on 16"s at 114.3x4 and 40mm? And would it be ok to run those with a spacer to equal a 44mm offset?
Thanks alot everyone..
This will be the first big jump for my prelude, new 16s, and then tein suspension later on.
me either.. seems like something that would bend or just be unsafe *shrug* but to each his own.
So i know that the recommended offset is +42-45mm offset does this mean that +40mm is farther IN toward the body, or farther OUT from the body?
I looked on a diagram, and i couldnt really grasp it.
and if 40mm is too far IN, then can I use a compensatory spacer (just 4 lug spacer) to make up for the missing 4mm? (ie: 40mm offset, + 4mm spacer = 44mm?)
C'mon now guys.. i know there are plenty of knowledgeable people on this forum.
The reason i am asking is because I want to get a set of Rotas (yeah, it's my little budget) and the offset is 40mm, and i know that reccommended offset for 4th gen ludes is 42-46mm..
Can I just use a spacer to achieve that offset, meaning, 40mm + 4mm spacer = 44mm?
you can run a 40 mm offset. you don't need a spacer. with 16x7 rim and 40mm offset, its almost flush with the outside. you won't rub unless you're slammed.
if you looked at my explanation, a spacer pushes wheels out. with rims, 40mm + 4mm offset = 36mm offset.
