Lowered 2.5" with 215's?

Has anyone tried this, I'm lowered 2.5" and want to know if 215 40ZR 17
will fit on the lude, i am currently using 205's with no problems, but it is close. My ride is stiff, so it doesnt seem like i will bounce and hit the tire, but with me , or an additional passenger passengers, well usually, just one passenger, the ride will sit a little lower, so the room for the tire fitting will be less. I just dont feel like getting my fenders tucked in for 215's on a slammed lude. I just want to know if anyone else is has 215's on a 17 with 40 side profile on a lude lowered 2.5" in the front. Thanks....

Depends on your offset of your rims. I've run 215/40/17 as well as 215/45/17 with no rubbing at all.

Take you time with inclines, 45 degree angles, dont go up a drive way you wont make up...its also fun for having to work on your car, i havent got a special low clearance jack yet, but have been driving up on boards to get enough clearance for my jacks...haha, being lowered isnt that bad, its being lowered with a body kit that raises issues.

I'm on ground control coil overs so I never really measured the height. I have dropped it low enough to where there was no wheel gap and I was fine no rubbing. Right now I'm runnig 16's with 215/45s with a 40mm offset. I don't rub at all even on hard corners. You should be fine though. Keep in mind all tire manufactures are a little different. Even if you et a 215 the actual width of the tire will vary.

I had 215/40/17 tires on rims with 40+ offset. I too had Ground Control coilovers, but I was lowered to the point where I was tucking a bit in the front and rear. I never rubbed even during hard cornering so you should be fine. My spring rates were fairly stiff so that helped a bit, but I don't think you'll have any problems.

Got the tires and wheels put on..

Just thought I'd update this thread. Well I'm lowerd 2.5" and did not get any rubbing with the 215 40 17 so far with me in the car. But I dont think that another passenger will affect it either, but maybe a passenger in the back, I dont know.

I read your other post about the hankooks. You'll be fine I have the same tire. They're great, good choice.
