Lol: why some people shouldn't be allowed to rate tires...

I was checking out some reviews on tirerack.com, trying to decide between Yoko AVS ES100s and maybe Goodyear F1 GS-D3s, and stumbled across this review of the AVS by some nitwit celica owner, read on, and remember, he/she's rating an Ultra High Performance SUMMER Tire:

"I am a very aggressive driver, every turn feeling the limits of my car and tires, feeling what its like beyond the limits of the tires, and how the tires break. I dont pay attention to road noise and not much attention to ride harshness. I wanted the best tires that I can get for dry conditions and then just drive a little slower in rain. Yea, it snows in NY, but not much and I would just be careful and drive real slow on the few snow days we get, besides how bad could it be. I would just control my slides in the snow. Well, that didnt work. I tried, but these tires were a hundred times worse in the snow than I could ever imagine tires could be. My car would just not move, and when I was able to get started, I just slid sideways down the slope a street has to rid itself of storm water. Absurdly awful. Now on dry, flat and clean pavement these tires stick excellent. I have slid with them, but it is controlled. When the pavement gets a little rough, the tires dont stick as well as my old mediocre tires. I am guessing that the stiffness of the sidewalls prevent the entire tire from molding to the pavement and only get a small amount of road contact. In rain the tires work well, I have not had to slow down that much. In conclusion, do not let these tires think about snow. If there are any cracks in the pavement these tires lose grip. On flat surfaces they stick very well. With only five thousand miles they show wear, but I cant estimate treadlife yet. I dont think I will buy these again."

The sad thing is I've seen this before, why do people always include how the summer tire performs poorly in snow (no $hit!) ... I swear, some people are living, breathing active advertisements for the pros of birth control.

i like how he talks about the AVS having a "stiff sidewall" and that being the reason why it has "bad grip on rough surfaces"
