Konig Illusion

Hello, I have recently been looking around for wheels, mainly for fantasising, but also may plan on buying them in the future. (a year from now maybe?)

Until recently, i figured out that the wheels i wanted dont fit my 1999 Prelude 5th gen. I wanted the TSW Nagaro 17"

SO, my current second choice is the Konig Illusion.

I used 1010tires.com to check fitment, and one day, it said "Konig Illusion 17" x 7" - 5/114.3 - 40mm" WONT fit my car. but today, it says that it WILL fit my car. thats some kinda rediculous glitch? so, im now really confused, because judging from the offset etc, from searching around the forum, it SHOULD fit right? please correct me if im wrong here.

to add to my suspicion, Konig's own website does not list Illusions as a fit on my prelude (filtered a search for my specific car). is it because their website isnt up to date with the new products? or do they, infact, NOT fit?

worse comes to worse, i may just paint my OEM blade rims, since they are still pretty nice (in my opinion ;])

thanks for your time! and sorry for the noob questions ;D

According to our fitment information, the 17x7 +40 Illusion will work. You have to keep in mind though that the +40mm offset will place the front edge of the wheel just slightly past the fender so if you're lowered, you may run into some rubbing once a tire is mounted.

Just get your fender lips rolled, 18" 42mm lowered 2" all around on 225-40-18 and no rubbing at all.

^When I had that setup, I had rubbing. I never rolled my fenders though.

Now I have 17x7 +40 wheels with 215/40/17 tires with a fairly low drop and I have no rubbing.

IMO any wheels of that size with low profile tires will look like crap on an unlowered car though. Wheel gap looks bad on Preludes.

^thanks for that advice! i agree, when preludes are lowered, they look very hot.

im delaying the lowering part because i plan on buying skirts or lowerspoilers (whichever is the proper term now). most likely OEM ones, but not 100% sure yet. if it were OEM, then i should have enough room for lowering. (i dont want it to be so low that i will hit speed bumps etc)
