I just got my 18x7.5 Rota battles today with pirelli p zero. on my way home after the installation, i already experience a lot of rubbing on the rear left side (with the stock tires in back seat and trunk). The rims are 45mm offset and i have 225/35 on them. I wonder if that is usual (i.e. only left side rub) or it's only that i have the stock tires in my car. I am still using stock shock and struts. My questions is, is there any shop that will rix my rims to a larger offset, so my tires tug in more or rolling my fender will be the only way.
When I say lots of rubbing i do mean a lot, as I drove from SF to home which is about 45 mins away i can hear more than 30 times of rubbing. I am already quite careful during the up and down turns in the hills.
I think someone on teh board had there 42mm offset increased to 46-48 or something. I don't think 45mm with 225/35 should rub =/ if you have money try 215/35

Sorry, I mean springs. But anyway, 215 or 225 is not the main point as it is a 7.5 rim and i don't think 215 will fit very well. My point is whether it is possible to sand (or what ever i should call it) down the inner part of the rim so that it can tug more inside. And the part that touches the rotos is not a continuous circle, it is like 5 seat protrudes out from the center. (just wonder if any milling machine can do it)

Ok, don't do that. Most shops won't even attempt it. First of all the back side of your rims is not flat, it has a very very slight concave. Someone with it a lot of skill has to do it. Also there is the problem with the strenght of the rim.
I just don't see the point. And 215/35 on a 7.5" width is fine, trust me. Banana aka Steven Nagga Nagga has 215/35 and it looks tight.

Alright.. what rubs (usually) is this little plastic piece that you're going to have to file down.
Take your finger, and run it across the outer edge of your wheel well. You're going to feel this plastic peice right where the rear bumper and the rear quarter panel meet. It sticks out... that's where the tires rub.
Thanks JC836 for that info

Anybody want to buy my Lude? (Will sell in either stock or fairly modded trim).
i willpost some pics when i get off work today, so is rolling the fenders a must, as i am not going to replace those p-zeros, they are really grippy. The wierd thing is that only the left rear side that rubs. The tire rub onto the black plastic right under the finder. It rubbed like 5 times this morning on my way to work and this is all on highway, so there is no way i will leave this alone, i will have to get it fixed soon.

No, you shouldn't have to ROLL the fenders at all...
As vooboo said, there is a little black piece inside the fender well, that you need to cut, sand, file, dremel off...
Once that is gone, you should be golden...

ok, then what is the difference of rolling the fenders, i don't quite understand now. Rolling fenders mean to flip the black thing up or what. And that piece is quite stiff, if i do, how do i cut it? Actually i don't want to cut anything out of the body if possible.
ROlling the fedners is when you modify the fenders. You roll the outer edge of the fender in and up. What these guys are talking about is filing away at the fender liner. The black plastic thing inside the wheel well that is rubbing. I personally never found this, however i found a metal triangular piece that I never had the balls to grind off. If you can find someone that lives around you I'm sure they will be more than happy to show you in person or maybe someone can post a pic? I still think you should take back your 225/35 and get 215/35. The tire place fugged up when they gave you 225/35's make them replace it.
SOMEONE POST A PIC OF THE THING HE'S SUPPOSE TO GRIND OFF

the reason why you are rubbing on the left side is because that is the side you sit on, have someone sit on the passeger side and that side will rub too. But the tires in the back are going to add to this, I imagine you won't rub w/ your trunk empty.
Last night my gf was in the car with my stock wheels in the trunk and only the left side rub. This morning only myself in the car and no wheel and it's just the left side rub. For the tires, I requested 225/35 as i want a wider tire then stock, 215 is just not wide enough. 35 is cuz the circumference is closest to the stock 205/50 16 so that i will not throw the ATTS off. Instead of cutting the fender trim, has anyone bend it, or flip it up to get more clearance?
