have tire question????

i have the tire size 225/45zr16 right now and i was looking at some bridgstone pole position tires and they only make a 225/45r16??? what does the z do? I like these cause they put ALOT of work into the tire performing in wet conditions.....and well.......i do live in seattle so i was just wondering i thought it was like a speed rating or something but even the ones that i did find that were ZR tires were rated like y speed and stuff like that so.... i dunno

The "Z" is the speed rating. "R" means radial construction. Maybe your reading it wrong because a tire size 225/40ZR-17 is good for 149 mph+ and is a radial. Thats that.....it has no other speed rating but "Z."

Get Goodyear GS-D3s. They are almost identical to S-03s in performance and you can get a $75 rebate right now.

$945 is way too much. The tires should be around $160-170 each plus $100 for mounting, balancing, and stems add $45 to ship them if you order online.

Who quoted you that price? Take them a copy of Tire Rack's ad and ask them to match it.

BTW, if you live in Seattle, you want GS-D3s. They are the best performance tire in the rain bar none.

BTW, move this to the tire forum...
