i seen this brand in alot of magazines and they have a big amount of good looking wheels, can anyone who HAS THIS BRAND or HAS HAD THEM tell me the quality of wheels, and good or bad experience with these, are they worth buying???
They're a knock off brand. Some people like them some people don't. They won't be as good of quality as the brand they are imitating... but for the price you pay some say its justified. You'll have to form your own opinion though on whether you want a knock off or not.
Overall, I was very pleased with everything. I did bend 2 wheels, but not bad enough for the tires to lose any air pressure. When I bought the wheel/tire combo, I spent the extra $50 for the 1 year roadhazard warranty. I sent the two bent wheels back, and received 2 brand new wheels.
yes as everythingzen said, there a knockoff brand, and there quality is decent, i have heard some problems with exel rims before, but not to ward you off from knockoff brands, ive got rims from RS limited (shinwa wheels) which is the replica of the Dazz Matiz, and theyve done great for me considering all the pot holes ive it and whatot (knock on wood). i actually enjoy how exel has so many styles available.

since i dont have money for volks or blitz wheels and money is a issue i might just get some wheels, im interested in getting the dl-46, cant decide on gunmetal or silver. car color is ficus green. Any opinions on colors will be welcomed
I had Exel wheels on my Maxima. For the $$ they are hard to beat. They are low end wheels no one will argue that. I never had a problem with bending one even in 19x8 size. But the polished lip looks like hell about 6 months after owning them. I ended up selling them to get Axis wheels. They were MUCH nicer and just a few hundred more. I'm now running Volk SF Challenges and I guess it goes without saying they blow the other two away. Here are a few pics...

Does anyone know of a place online where i could get wheels on credit? I realy like the dl-46's and i can get those cash, but i kinda want name brand wheels but i cant afford those cash unless i save, but i need wheels now. cant wait
Also since exel is a knock off wheel, does any one know what the dl-46 is a knock off of? Who makes the real one and whats the name of them?

The clear coat on the lips just started to get dull. Not as shiney. You can't polish the lip so to speak because its just a clear coated wheel not a true polished lip. But that goes for most lower end wheels. Anyhow those Exels are a knockoff of the SSR GT3s. It costs more for one SSR than it does for a whole set of DL46s with tires. I can honestly say now that I've owned a set of Volk wheels that I will never go back to lower end models. The quality just isn't there.

damn, i realy liked those wheels, too bad that the lip gets ugly, can anyone tell me if these adr wheels are the same ones as the exel dl-46?? Would adr be a better wheel than exel??
Listen, I dont want to say that you shouldn't buy those wheels. For the money they can't be beat. If you wash them with soap by hand every time you wash your car they should be fine. Just don't use harsh cleaners and make sure they dont get too dirty.

ill probably end up getting the dl-46 since i cant get anything else i just wanted to know if adr is an overall better wheel.. thanks for your help
Make a list of your pros and cons. What do you want the wheels for? Racing? For show? I don't race my car, so I bought my wheels for show. If I autox'd or road raced a lot, then I would probably have bought a more expensive wheel. I have the money to buy more expensive wheels, just not the need for them. This is the list I made when I was deciding on what rim to buy.
Pros for name brand wheels (Ray's, Advan, etc):
1) Better quality, no question about it. Except sometimes the Volk Racing stickers peel off *cough*AnthonyAKAMugenPoweredLude*cough*
2) Bragging rights
3) Your money was spent on a quality product.
Cons for name brand wheels
1) Very high cost
2) Possibly a very long wait to get
3) Very expensive to repair/replace (even though they ARE better quality, they ARE NOT indestructable)
4) You may have to guard them with your life
5) Most times you need to buy the hub covers separately and not too many places will offer a wheel/tire package at a discounted rate
Pros with Excel Wheels:
1) Inexpensive
2) Readily available (you will have them about 1 week after ordering)
3) Will arrive at your door ready to put on your car - but I recommend buying hubcentric rings. They will give you information on a place to buy them from.
4) Once you buy a wheel/tire package from wheelmax, you can purchase tires only from them in the future.
5) If you HAVE to buy a replacement wheel, the cost is much less.
6) You won't feel like throwing up as much if you scratch one.
7) They do look good.
8) 1 and 2 year roadhazard warranties available
9) There's not too many thieves out there looking to rip off Exel wheels
Cons of Exel Wheels:
1) You get what you pay for.
2) I wouldn't trust them too much for any type of racing.
2) You can't touch the wheels with ANY chemicals (soap and water only)
3) You only have yourself to blame if you aren't happy with them.
Don't get me wrong. I would LOVE to have the actual Advan Kreuzer V's *curses Dennis aka gioe*, but for my needs they would be a waste of money. Good luck with your decision. Do whatever makes the most sense for you.

I plan on show only and ocasionally for 1/4 racing..

Wheelmax only sells wheels and wheel/tire packages. They do not normally sell tires only. When you get the wheel package, the tires come out to be much cheaper than you can find anywhere else. However, once you buy a wheel and tire package from them, they will sell you tires after the originals have gone bald. They quoted me 17" Kuhmos at ~$85 a piece plus shipping. That's WAY cheaper than anywhere else.

When you receive your wheel/tire package, they will include a letter that says that they only use organic clear coats on their wheels. They say that any chemical other than soap and water will damage the clearcoat, and would void any warranty.
I only use soap and water to clean them. I guess it makes me wash them on a regular basis, so that I don't get too much brake dust buildup. I've never had any problems with the clearcoat.
If I were you, I would comprise a list of questions and give them a call. They were always very helpful to me and never tried to pressure me into any sale.
