Enkei Evo 5's anyone?

My tires are on their last leg so if I'm going to get some new rims I have to do it soon. I've been hard pressed to find something I really like.

I wanted some gunmetal rims with a polished lip, and from what I've found I really like these:

Enkei Evo 5's

I looked on eBay and while there are a few listed, but I haven't been able to find some 17's that'll fit my car!

I want 17's because they're cheaper and not as heavy as 18's, but from what's available I found this auction for 18's.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...spagename=WDVW

It says they fit my car but I'm wondering about the offset. Those are +35 and I believe I’ve read that the Prelude requires +42? I’m really not as educated about wheels/tires as I’d like to be…

Also, what about the tires? I've read about some people here that have had some problems with the brand and others who've had good experiences, so I'm not sure.

I've looked on other websites and from what I've found, it'll probably cost just as much to get a set of 17's with tires as it would to get those 18's. Assuming those on eBay will even fit. I'll keep looking though.

Enkeis are pretty sweet. Nice rims and they're not as common as others.

As far as sizes go, +35 will not fit on your car for sure.

The answers to your questions are only a few threads above yours:

^^ On the Enkei web site it does say they come in an offset of +35 as well as +45 for 18's. +35 and +42 for 17's.

http://www.enkei.com/Performance%20specs/evo5.html

I didn't think those would fit, but I wanted to make sure since the seller claimed they would.

Yeah, those bothered me at first, but in motion you won't be able to tell. Overall I like these more than anything else I've found. They're better quality than Exels and are nearly as cheap.

Enkei must really like it's logo though, considering it's on that rim in 5 different places.

if the one the seller has is +35, they won't fit.. i didn't even consider those offsets when i was looking for rims.. if you are serious about those wheels, check out http://adaptivestrategies.com/EnkeiPerformance.html and give those guys a call.. i've visited their place myself, and the guy was really nice.. he will probably hook you up.. (i think he also price matches)

as for the line on the polished lip, i think it will look funny in motion since the center of the lip will be black and the edges of the lip will be polished.. the line is pretty thick too.. you probably won't be able to see the blue enkei logo tho.. but if you like them, you should get them.. they are very nice rims nontheless.. but the lips bothered me a lot when i considered getting those rims..

I'm assuming you saw these in person so you have a better idea than I do, but from the pictures on that auction the lines on the lip and center of the wheel don't exactly look "black" as the name "HYPERBLACK" would imply. They look more like a light-gunmetal. If the lines were dark black I'd tend to agree with you about the line breaking up the look for the lip but from those pictures the lines don't seem that overpowering.

I'm an extremely indecisive (not to mention cheap) person, so who knows what I'll finally end up with...

lol you are not alone.. i'm an indecive person as well.. it took me months to choose the right rims for me.. as for the color, hyper black is shiny gunmetal/black/gray color.. the color is very nice.. you should check them out in person.. like i said, go for it if you like them. enkei makes good quality rims and sell them at a reasonable price.. i'd google that rim and try to find pix of cars with those rims and see how they look..

I've tried without luck. The only picture of these rims on a car that I could find was that one picture from the website you suggested:

Supposedly these are new to 2005? If so, I could understand why there aren't many with these yet, but it's also unfortunate since there are no pictures.

So what wheels did you end up with?

^^^ Those were another one I really liked, but couldn't find at a decent price. I actually like them a bit more. Same style but without the lines on the lip.

I think that guy on eBay might be able to get me some 17's with a +42 offset for around $880 shipped (both rims and tires). If so I think that's what I'm going to do.
