$662 for tires  :die: :die: :die:

I'm leaving town on Friday so I need new tires pretty quickly. I'd love to sit around and wait for TireRack to ship me tires since they're the cheapest so far, but the Just Tires down the street has the basic Kumwhore 712s in stock, ready to go for $662 out the door. Sounds insane, but keep in mind this is for 205/50/17F and 255/40/17R. I've never had to buy tires by themself so I have no clue if this is outrageous or if it's in the right ballpark. I don't care if it's $50-75 more than so-and-so shop. The convenience is the most important thing. Thoughts before I sign my life away for rubbers?

From what I see it would be a ripoff for that price. Going by what discount tire direct has (they didn't list a price for the 205/50/17) it would be ~$440 shipped to you. Which also means that America's Tire pricing will be around $100-$120 more installed and out the door. Try giving America's Tire a call for pricing.

Sounds very high.
Just had 205/40 17 front and 235/40 17 rear ES100's installed etc for $480.

Where in SoCal are you? I'm in the valley and work everyday until 6. Not sure if I'd have time depending on where he's located. Thanks!

i spent close to that at just tires. I dont know about that tho ... i paid less than that for these dunlops that retailed at 117/ech... I'd say talk them down and get them to throw in a free alignment. And it just might be worth the time. They told me i can come back anytime within 3000 miles to get my alignment readjusted ... (so go hit some potholes and get your moneys worth). If time is a crunch, dollars wont mean much to you. As you obviously are missing the best deal due to impatience.

not really impatience, just the desire to not ride on very bald tires anymore. especially on my 300 mile round trip this weekend.

i'm still looking around for alternatives..

Avoid the FM901s as well. i spent a good $103/ech and they squeel around most every turn thats more than 4K on the dial. :bigmiddlefinger: to dunlop for saying these tires were tight.

I picked up my Yokohama ES100's (215/45/17) from a local Big-O Tires here in Long Beach for $510 out the door. These tires rock... I had Dunlop 9000's (215/40/17) before the Yoko's and I thought the 9000's were awesome tires. The ES100's put the 9000's to shame.

When I was in the market for new tires it was between the ES100's and the FM901's and I am sooo glad I chose the Yoko's

I'm getting them for $565 incl. alignment at this place my bro has used before. I probably drive maybe 10 miles a week total, so I think I'll be OK.

Correct, on both accounts.

Benny Ben - I hardly ever drive anymore.
