I dont want to make anyone think that im trying to force my opinion on anyone, because it is exactly that... my opinion. But judging from the majority of my friends in sfpoa (as it used to be called ) the trend is the more meat, the cooler and safer you are. runnin 35 series tires on 18 and 19 inch wheels is too 00s. its the new decade, ppl like lightweight, wide wheels with average to acceptable diameters ( 15-17 honda, 15-18 nissan, toyota, muscle) and meaty tires.

For example: the best *and sexiest* setup for a prelude is 1 to 3 inch drops, 16 or 17s with 8 inch width. +45 or +48 offset (ET) and a 235/40 or 245 series max tire (dunlop star specs, NT05, RT-615, RS-3)

If you take a 17 x 8 with 48 ET and a 235/40 direzza star spec, you will have no rubbing issues unless you take a large bump and hit bottom or perform a suspension drop of 2.1" or more. Thankfully, Rota makes many model wheels in 17x8 +48. with a 225/45 or 235/40, you will fill out your fenders very well, gain exceptional grip and handling, and lose about 3 mpgs due to drag (larger footprint).

some inexpensive options for wheels are TR Motorsports MT1, O.Z. Crono HT or Ultraleggeras, Enkei RPF1, Motegi Tracklites, TSW Trackstar 5 (according to a friend of mine on SRT-4 forums, 17.5 lbs for 17x8)

The whole point of getting plus-width wheels is to accommodate wider tires for more traction. 215 on 8" wheels is pointless.

I think 7.5 width and 225 tires are about as wide as you'd want your wheels/tires.
What? How? I have 245 40 18s on my 5th gen and i scrub with a inch lift. Is it because of the 245? Is it too wide? The rims were given to me by my ex. The come off a 06 Altima SER.

Yes, 225 tires are the widest that will fit without lots of fender rolling. What is your wheel offset?

I had 225s on my prelude when I first got it and it rubbed like hell. That was bone stock besides my tires which were a 225/40/17. I would be in it alone and barely turn and it would rub in the rear. Got rid of them and running a 215/40/17 with no problems...Going to roll my fenders so i can fit a wider tire though....

My offset is +45. Its an 8 inch rim. It looks great. Wide tires on a lude makes the car look really aggressive
