215/40/18 7.5" rim

My buddy has a 5th gen SH with 215/40/18 tires and 18" by 7.5" rims. He wants to know if this wheel and tire combination will allow him to lower his car with out rubbing? if it will rub, what is the best tire combo so he can lower his car without doing so?

Same here. Ditched those wheels because of it too.

It's all about offset. My 18's were +42 and hit the back fenders going over bumps and the fronts rubbed the wheel wells on sharp turns.

Get your fender lips rolled. I have the same setup indy got rid of due to rubbing, i dropped my car 2" and it was burning up my tires till i got it done and now i have a pinky gap between the tire and fender. I do rub the fender liner in the front if i crank the wheel all the way to one side.

^That's your problem.

Stretched tires or stupidly negative camber will work as a band-aid fix, but you will still eat up tires like they are candy.
