18x7.5 45mm w/ 225/35/18's

will this work? i know everyone says the 225/35/18 will be good on a 48 offest rim, but what about the 45mm. i looked at the stickies and the tire calculator. doesn't seem to be much difference? thought? thanks.

also, how bad of a idea is it to use 215/35/18 with the above rim? i really do not want the 215/40/18 because i do not want a taller tire than stock.

215/35/18 is like a rubber band - not much protection for the rim either.

225/40 doesn't look that bad at all.

225/35 should be ok with that offset as long as you arent slammed, the drop in your sig looks alright. Might even fit lower, but you are getting close at that point.

225/40 is too tall, its equivalent to a 225/45-17 in OD.

with a +48 offset on a 7.5" wheel you could probably get away with a 225/35 or 215/40 regardless of drop, if you bottom out on the top of the fenderwell at that point, you are probably close to dragging the subframe on the ground.

I just installed 18" Speed Star Racing D5R wheels (45mm offset) with 225/35-18 Goodyear Eagle F1 GS D3 tires on my 5th gen and I'm happy to report they fit great with no rubbing! Damn sweet wheels - only $199 at Tirerack too

Buy with confidence - they fit and look great! I went for the bronze model. Only caveat is that Tirerack considers them "high maintainence" rims cuz they are anodized - not clear coated - and need special care. No wheel cleaners etc. Not a prob for me since the 'lude is basically a show car now and only comes out of the garage to play on nice days.

edit - I forgot to mention that I am dropped about 1.25" on Tanabe springs and all is well but if you went much lower, there might be rubbing probs.
