17x8 (+40) with 245/35R17

Like the topic says. Has anyone tried this combo?

Looking for a wider tire and stance compared to what I have now. 17x7 (+40) with 215/40R17.

I want them to be flush. Not sticking out. But flush. I know it would rub. But I'm willing to roll the fenders, ride on a stiffer setup (have Tein HA's) and raise a finger if needed.

Just wondering if anyone has tried it or has a pic with that rim size and offset.

not happening.

widest successful setup that anyone has reported is 235/40/17 on 17x8 with +48 offset. you can't drop more than ~1.5" with this setup but it's enough to look good with that size tire.

you'd need some fender modification to run +40 - no one has tried it to my knowledge. and no matter what wheel offset you choose, why 235/45/17? 235/40/17 is just as wide and already slightly taller than stock. 235/45 is going to rub everywhere, not just the outer fender lip (which you can fix).

check for pictures of Alvanderp's white lude with SSR Competition wheels - he ran 235/40/17. I think some of them are still linked on this forum if you do a search.

with rolled fenders, it might work, but you'd rub for sure and couldnt drop much

search for my pics too, they are 235/40/17 with about a 1" or 1.5" drop. i think it might be +48, not sure anymore. they're whatever gram light 57 pros came in at 17x8 with around a 45-50 offset

17x8 +43 235/40/17 doesnt work for sure

+40 with a wider tire will definitely stick out. rolling the fenders would be pointless because of that.

A 245/35-17 on a 17X8 can be done, you just need alot more offset than +40. +48 will put it almost dead flush with the fender edge.

Rolling the fenders wont do anything - there isnt anything to roll in the front. You can roll the rears, but the fronts will still rub at 8" wide +40 offset

front with a 43 offset and 235/40/17

i probably could have made it work if i adjusted the camber more negative, but i didnt want to risk having my tires wear out too quickly.

I have +43 17x8 with 235/40 17 and they fit fine. I obviously had to do some fender rolling but nothing too extensive. I don't have that much camber, about 1.25 degrees.

This is really close to the setup I plan to have: +45 17x8 with 215/40/17 tires. I'm hoping that I won't have to roll the rear fenders or rub the front fender liners when making turns. I don't plan to excessively lower the car either.

FYI - 215/35/18 on 18x8 +40 offset with 2inch drop does not rub in fronts but rubs in rear. You need to shave rear tabs and roll rear fenders. A 225 tire would def not work with this set up. I have it at its closest point without rub and that took some fender roll effort.
