I'm getting kinda borded with the all black interior and was thinking of going with a medium cool grey and black concept. I just want to know what you think, is it too tacky or does it look ok. If its cool the trim around the radio and the shift boot will be the same color.

I'm not really a big fan of the different colored interiors....it usually looks tacky/gaudy....but I don't think yours looks too bad cuz it's not orange or yellow or a bright red or somethin...grey is more subtle/acceptable. if you like it then by all means, go for it, I'd just prefer black.

Well, I just started today, 7-7-02 and man was it a @#%$@!. The door panel looks like it comes apart in to different pieces, but its actually a molded piece of vinyl glued onto a melted together door panel.
Its pretty drawn out but basically I placed a piece of vinyl over the black vinyl. I did this cause its preformed and already has padding. if you look at the back of the panel, youll see that the panels are all one piece and theres melted rivitt points. I placed a piece of vinyl face down on the back side and used a pin to trace the shape I needed, what youll need to do is slip it in between the molded together pieces and hot glue it(that covers the bottom or the section by the arm rest but the top....youll see on the back of the panel little dots tracing the shape of the panel, I cut a line from on dot to the other- doing this to every other set of holes or in spots where I will need to pull the fabric trough to keep it tight. Why I did this is so I could pull the vinyl trough in each one of these spots while I just tucked the material in between the slots. This allows you to shape it and keep it together in place.whille keeping the door panel structually sound. It IS VERY DIFFICULT TO EXPLAIN AND DO. I hope this makes some since. Good luck.
hey ton.. where did u get your vinyl?? and how much was it?
and why did u choose vinyl over leather..??
cuz i have two-tone leather seats and i want to match my door panel to match my 2-tone seats..
anyway here's pic of my 2-tone leather seats

Well, vinyl over leather was decided because of cost, I just got laid off so I have to keep the cost down. Vinyls really cheap, I paid six bucks for 2 square yrds, well enough to do the door panels and the a few other things. I live outside of Sacramento,CA and got the fabric at a place called Hancock Fabric...Nice name huh?LOL. I did the 2 tone cause I someday plan on getting the 2 tone racing seats.
2 tone would look really good with your 2 tone leather seats
