a very happy turn of events

ok so when i first got the lude i wasnt into modding much so the system i had bent and installed was eh....ok but was not much to look at. then i got the oem rear skirt and my tip didnt fit at all, in fact it melted some of the oem rear, so i hacked off the tip...that was fine up intill i drove to LFW from san diego and all that hot air was melting it a little more from the tipless muffler, so finally i bought a cheap ass turndown to deal with the hot air till i upgraded.

ok ok ok, now that i have shed some light as to how desperate i was...
Right before i shoved the ghetto rig turndown tip up inside me equally ghetto piecer muffler i decided NOW was the time and gave our good buddy allen a call

yeah...he is cool like that
so i talked to allen and he gave me an oober nice deal on a brand new evo2....485 picked up which is way less than some stores charge just for the old one!!!, anyhoo i wasnt nuts about driving up to OC after work at like 630 but it was well worth it, shot the breeze with allen about cars and life.....ah sigh but it was time to go and well, i installed it that weekend, which was this past weekend, somehow got my lil bro to help me out

fitment was FLAWLESS honestly fit like a glove...yeah i cut my hands a couple times from yanking on hangers and banging my hand into the heat sheild edges but eh...whatev.
after the install i was so happy

yeah, that bling tape was holding on the bandage that was holding my finger skin together...bling bling
was so happy i did a FOB pose but it just wasnt the same as jon like whoa the master

anyhoo here are the final couple of shots once i got the car on the ground...i have a couple more shots of the car with long shutter speeds but imagestation is being ghey now so those come tomorrow, anyways, enjoy....

:sigh: dont you just love good stories,
NOW GO AND BUY SOMETHING FROM ALLEN NOW!!!

rply

post pics of steve cause i never watched that show,
and its much better in the high end than my other exhaust, i did feel a slight loss down low because of the restrictive muffler from my other exhaust, kept the back pressure a little more, but this one sounds and feels 100000 times better

and basil, would it be that much safer to be under the car supported by two jack stands, i guess it might, but i made sure all the jackstands were compressed and they were, and even nudged the car a bit and it was solid...and these were 3 ton jackstands so they were by far qualified for the job,

mad props to allen (see pic) for killer deal, will definitely be talking to him for just about every purchase from now on for some kind of reference.

o and the tip is machined, not rolled, none of the evo systems are like that, only the street performance and maybe the G2 euro system but that is turndown and not for our car...

future plans will definitely be including a high flow cat for this non smog testing days because ive heard it makes the evo sound like a muthabeast

anyhoo thats the update

yeah, that nasty part of the rear lip will get covered soon with metal and will also be stainless so its all good, just glad the root of the problem is gone, but yeah it was really weird how hot that exhaust ran, probably just cause of the lack of flow it allowed the car anyways onward and upward
