cut a piece of metal to cover the hole where the intake goes and tacked it down...


then welded it! still needs some more grinding then bondo to make it all smooth. its pretty smooth now just really dirty


and then today got the shock tower brackets off

well im done for today. pretty pleased. heres some pics

the bay as it is now. took the rack and pinion out


passenger side. still some work needs to be done as far as welding


driver side still has a couple more holes


firewall. grinded off the studs and drilled off the bracket things


radiator support. just needs bondo to fill in the smaller holes from welding

and today more of the same. welded up some more holes. and some pics since everyone likes pics lol

section above firewall welded up


starting to weld in the firewall


i should get the seats tomorrow. im so excited lol. then the steering wheel may get here late this wk or early next

I always wanted to get a race steering wheel, though I like my JDM DC5 MOMO too much to swap it out. I'm assuming you're not going to install your steering wheel until you have more of the car done, right?

yeah the steering wheel is gonna stay in the box and sit in my room. the seats to. still welding on the firewall and there's openings that could allow bug in the car. i'd like to shampoo the carpet and rear seats when the time comes closer to actually putting the interior in for good...its kind of a ways off though

yeah staggered. the specs are 17x8 +45 and 17x9+44. gonna add 10mm spacers to both front and rear for a little more aggressive stance. just not "hellaflush" aggressive

Looks like you need to clean up the inside of those wheels a bit.

good job on the build, i rebuilt my lude wen i was 18... i just recently bought one of those flux welders from harbor frieght too to weld on a new radiator support and its just not as easy to use as a tig...
