An sh driver beats the appearance averages

note:Pictures were taken on 5/21/2011

Although its not possible to always have the best looking Prelude where you live all the time , with a lot of ongoing detailing, choice of detailing products ,combined with using the advantages of having a garage , I am able to on average keep my Prelude at or near the top of the pack in appearance where I live. Here are some of the ways I keep My car at or near #1 where I live.

1: Because my Prelude always stays in the garage during bad weather its never seen on the street where I live in less then pristine condition which I consider a big plus. Also by not being in the elements ,it takes less effort to keep the car in #1 like condition.
2: The cars painted surface from birth has had only one type of wax applied to it and that wax is EAGLE ONE. I have herd that a painted surface can benefit from having only one type of wax applied to it in the long run and on a car that was purchased by me in 1999 the long run is now.
3: On hot days I air conditioner the garage before waxing because I find the wax goes on better and results are better when the cars painted surfaces ,the wax, and the person doing the waxing are not to hot.
4:One technique I use that gives me an edge on the detailing of my car involves the cleaning of the glass surfaces. I I use a glass squiggy whose rubber surfaces is first heated up using hot water before use. Using a warmed up squiggy I have found for some reason improves the bling effect of the glass and the result is really noticeable when the car is in direct sun light .

This morning I used my electric buffer over the entire surface of the car to further refine the bling. Before buffing the car this morning I applied another coat of wax to the hood because the cars sloping hood line makes having some more protection of the painted surface of the hood necessary. I used the buffer only on rare occasions because unfortunately the durability of the paint that was used back in 1999 is not as good as todays paints. This is because the government required them to remove the lead from their paint and use a substitute that in 1999 was in need of further refinement.I use Armor All on the half nose mask on the exterior of the car because it makes it shine and No Touch brand tire dressing on the tires.Shown below are pictures taken after buffing at the local TOV .

note: pictures taken on 5/22/2011

A car who's beauty is only skin deep is really not much of a car. Thats why my car since birth has had all its major repair and maintenance work done at the Honda garage where I purchased the car new in 1999 shown below only by certified Honda techs.

SH driver checks out the competition at the Mall to see if his game is good! lol
Note: Notice how my head lights and tail lights still have that new car bling to them even after 11 years.WIN

On the way home I always keep a keen eye out for those who wish to compete in what ever way they choose .

WTF is up with the 3rd person talking? Makes me imaging a retarded kid narrating as I read...

Car bras look awful, get an invisible one if you wanna protect the paint.

Just noticed those. Wow... It's like the bra almost pulls the eyes away from the hideousness of the moldings. Almost.

I disagree, I LOVE it when a hot person waxes my car:

Yes, I understand this is not my car, nor is the person in question waxing rather then washing the car, but either way, it counts.

I will admit, that is a helluva wax job, however i am surprised to hear this guy gets out of his mothers basement long enough to do anything......kinda weird how he chose waxing his car rather than catching a peice of tail.....to each their own i guess.

nice red painted calipers. If honda meant for them to be red, honda would have painted them red.

I thought painting the calipers was a nice touch just short of going Rice.

It's so hilarious how he like attempted to make it look like a chick was checking out his car even though it's nothing less than obvious that it's 2 different pics.

I had a neighbor who installed trim on cars for dealerships for a living. He ordered the trim and when I received it, just as he said ,it had Honda Motor Company markings on the box and the trim was made especially for the red 5th gen Prelude I have.I don't Know who his parts supplier was or how he managed to acquired such a part.I have never seen it sold anywhere including the very resourceful ICB motor sports site.My car is the only one I have ever seen with such a part that offers protection to the side of my car and adds a small degree of uniqueness.I liked the side trim on my 2nd gen lude and I think this trim applied to the side of my 5th gen lude gives it a sort of retro type look and a visual link to previous Preludes.
